Your information
Cookie notice
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. We keep them to a minimum: this website doesn’t use advertising or social-media tracking, and it doesn’t set any cookies of its own.
The cookies we use
| Type | What it does | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | None at the moment. When online booking opens, our booking and payment system (Smoobu, with card payments by Stripe) will set a few while you book, to keep your booking working and help Stripe prevent fraud. They won’t be used for marketing, and we’ll list them here first. | Not applicable yet. Once booking opens, no: the booking form can’t work without them, so the law doesn’t require your consent. |
| Statistics (optional) | Not in use. If we add simple visitor statistics in the future, to see which pages are useful, we’ll list them here first and give you an easy way to switch them off. | Yes, when they’re in use. |
| Advertising and social media | None. We don’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google Ads or anyone else. | Not applicable. |
Other websites and services
- Our fonts load from Google Fonts. This doesn’t set cookies, but your browser shares your IP address with Google when the page loads.
- When you follow a link to Instagram, Facebook, Airbnb or Booking.com, those sites set their own cookies under their own policies.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. This website doesn’t set any today, so nothing here will stop working. Once online booking opens, blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the booking form working, but you can always email us at stay@thehoggswellnessretreat.co.uk. For more about how we use your information, see our privacy notice.
